Kochadaiiyaan

Technologically, it's quite a jump (by Indian standards), but whether hardcore fans of the superstar will accept their legendary hero in this form is hugely debatable.

Though the movie drags towards the end, it is watchable. It has the usual action, style and dance that is expected in a Rajini movie.

So to conclude, Kochadaiiyaan is forgettable. That Shiva Thandavam and some glimpses here and there looked good. I am going with a very generous 2/5 for Kochadaiiyyan. It’s like playing a video game without graphics card. With all due respect Mr Amitabh Bachchan, only you would divide history of Indian cinema as before and after Kochadaiiyaan

Kochadaiiyaan, alas, is a fundamentally flawed dud, one without anything to applaud besides grand (if self-glorifying) ambition. And little is as heartbreaking to witness as utterly failed ambition.

Hardcore Rajinikanth fans will enjoy the film once but the film lacks revisit option.
 

We may still need to go a long way before we make an Avatar, but thanks to Rajini and his daughter, we have at least taken our first step.

Overall, this is an experiment film for sure.But if you’re looking out for something new this weekend, do go ahead and watch this film! Indeed a must-watch for Rajnikanth’s fans!

In the nutshell, though Kochadaiiyaan isn’t the best animated special effects movie around the block, but it still has enough elements to entertain and woo the audience, and the best part is another brilliant performance from the living legend.

Still we recommend that you see Kochadaiiyaan . It is a testament to one girl’s ambition, imagination and courage to make India’s first photo-realistic, 3D.

Having said that, Kochadaiiyaan might have taken a small step towards introducing Avatar-like technology into our lives, but it’s no giant leap. If you have blind faith and (obsessive) love for Rajinikanth and all things animation, you may enjoy this film. For others it may prove a battle to remain glued to your seats.

KS Ravikumar's intelligently crafted story backed by AR Rahman's music starring Deepika Padukone, Nasser, Aadhi, Jackie Shroff, Rukmmini and Shobhana with the Superstar himself, in an all new concept - 'Kochadaiiyaan' is the best of Superstar's portrayal and upcoming technology.

Ignore the technical flaws, watch it for the brave attempt made by Soundarya and her team. Mind you, Kochadaiiyaan is a worth-watching film.
