Ivide

This genre isn’t necessarily Shyamaprasad’s forte; yet there are areas you feel it couldn’t been better

At times, the movie gives the feeling that it would have fared pretty well even without the crime scene.

വിദേശ ക്രൈം ഡ്രാമകളുടെ പ്രതീതിയും പശ്ചാത്തലവും സൃഷ്ടിക്കുകയും ഒരു ശ്യാമപ്രസാദ് സിനിമയുടെ വൈകാരിക സങ്കീര്‍ണ്ണതകളെ പിന്‍പറ്റി കഥയവസാനിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന സിനിമയാണ് ഇവിടെ.

Ivide tries to tackle a lot of things but ends up satisfying none

ഹോളിവുഡ് സിനിമകളുടെ ശൈലിയിലൊരുക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചു പരാജയപ്പെട്ട ഒരു മുഷിപ്പന്‍, അരസികന്‍ നിര്‍മിതിയാണ് ഇവിടെ. 

ശ്യാമപ്രസാദിന്‍െറ സമീപകാല സിനിമകളില്‍ ‘ഇംഗ്ളീഷി’ന് പത്തുപടി മുകളിലും ‘ആര്‍ട്ടിസ്റ്റി’ന് അഞ്ചു പടി താഴെയുമാണ് ‘ഇവിടെ’യുടെ നില്‍പ്പ്.

ഒരു ക്രൈം സിനിമയുടെ നിലവാരത്തിന് യോജിച്ച തരത്തിൽ തിരക്കഥ മെനയാൻ അമേരിക്കയിലെ ഐ.ടി പ്രൊഫഷണൽ കൂടിയായ അജയൻ വേണുഗോപാലന് കഴിയാതെ പോയതാണ് സിനിമയുടെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ പോരായ്മ.

'Ivide' may not be what is expected or even desired. But it sure is good cinema. 

The film extends slow but steady to an with decent writings and somewhat well etched characters. 

തിരക്കഥയില്‍ കുറച്ചു നന്നായി ശ്രദ്ധ നല്‍കിയിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ ഏറെ മികച്ചതാക്കാനാവുമായിരുന്ന ഒരു പശ്ചാത്തലം തന്‍റെ കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളിലൂടെ ചിത്രത്തില്‍ സൃഷ്ടിക്കാനായി എന്നതില്‍ ശ്യാമപ്രസാദിന്‌ ആശ്വസിക്കാം. അതിനപ്പുറം എവിടെയുമെത്തുന്നില്ല ഈ 'ഇവിടെ'.

When it is approached as a typical Shyamaprasad movie, Ivide is an above average movie experience.But as a crime drama, the movie fails to meet the standards.

'Premam' elevates Alphonse Puthren onto a pedestal of sharp film makers who have figured out the actual potential of the medium that cinema is. And in their competent hands long-standing tales assume ground-breaking forms and enthuse the viewers in ways and manners never seen before. Much more than an unabashed crowd-pleaser, which it surely is, 'Premam' is a bracingly alive film where almost everything, seems to have fallen right into place. 

മികവറിയിച്ച് 'ഇവിടെ'

The movie tries to have layers, but can’t succeed in creating interesting ones.

Shyamaprasad once again shows his proficience in detailing and his craft comes alive on numerous occasions. But here is somewhat let down by an inert script. Ivide in that sense is not exactly where it aspired to be. Ivide is well made, but lacks the cutting edge.

In short; Ivide stands as a watchable movie; with Hollywood standard technical part, consisting a good story, which concentrate in the emotions by the leads along with the ongoing investigation.

On the whole Ivide is a watchable flick for those who can go without zero expectations and otherwise you will be disappointed as it offered more but delivered nothing much.

A Malayalam movie of International standards. But fails to satisfy the Shyamaprasad fans and crime drama lovers.
