Padma Bhushan Nomination for Mohanlal

Mohanlal has been nominated for the third Highest civilian award of the Padma Bhushan, according to the latest reports. Actor Jagathy Sreekumar, director Sreekumaran Thampi, lyricist-director Yusufali Kechery and singer P Jayachandran are in the Padma Shri nomination list which also includes 33 Nominees from various other fields as well.

Mohanlal has been awarded Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian awardin the year 2001, for his contribution to Indian Cinema.The actor has also been awarded with a Honorary Lieutenant Colonel title by Indian Territorial Army and a Honorary Doctorate by Sree Sankaracharya University of Calicut.
 
The Padma Bhushan is the third highest civilian award in the Republic of India, after the Bharat Ratna and the Padma Vibhushan, but comes before the Padma Shri. It is announced on the occasion of Republic Day every year.
