Though the film is not upto the expected level, Ajith and Gautham factor and a sweet but a light romantic track works positively for the film to a great extent saving it from sinking. It is definitely a watchable movie.

There’s nothing wrong with the general premise of Yennai Arindhaal. In fact, it has more going for it than any of Menon’s earlier films.

Rounding out his cop trilogy that began with Kaakha Kaakha and Vettaiyaadu Vilayaadu, Gautham Vasudev Menon gives us yet another chapter from yet another cop's life, although this is more a character study of a cop than just one episode from his life.

Yennai Arindhaal tracks the life of Sathya Dev — a journey that begins with a child’s dilemma of whether to follow a path that is lawful or one that is wrong but easy.

Despite some tonal and length issues, Gautham impresses mostly in "Yennai Arindhaal", and gives this tale of a police officer a much need emotional tug.

Gautham manages to have pulled off Yennai Arindhaal but only just. There are places where the narrative sags and even confuses. But where he redeems himself are the sequences that lay emphasis on human emotions.

The final installment of Gautham Vasudev Menon’s cop trilogy, Yennai Arindhaal, featuring actor Ajith Kumar in the lead, is a much-needed intervention in the Tamil commercial cinema space. It is also the most engaging of the three.

Yennai Arindhaal stands below the expectations. Performances are the main highlight of this Gautham Menon venture which runs on the old platform created by the director himself.

It’s neither possible nor necessary to pin down on whether this is brilliant film-making, but without doubt this is interesting and responsible film-making.

Overall Ajith starrer film Yennai Arindhaal stands as a good film to watch; mixed with all types of emotions and a typical Thala touch.

The movie is just one more addition to the countless cop dramas. There is just nothing, nothing novel in it that you could have taken home.

With 'Yennai Arindhaal', director Gautam Menon has attempted to provide a closure to his streak of cop films 'Kaakha Kaakha' and 'Vettayaadu Vilayaadu' in which he variously explores the good guy-bad guy grey areas, and the decisions that are required to be made in such dilemmas.

Yennai Arindhaal will be a watchable one for Ajith Fans and for others, it is a disappointment.

Despite some elemental flaws in logic and plausibility, this is a tense and potent film that almost reaches the sort of greatness that we can find to a greater degree in Menon’s best work, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu.

Gautham Menon Class delivered by Ajith’s Mass screen presence

Yennai Arindhaal is a movie that is smooth and efficient, entertaining and racy from the word go. Gautham Menon and Ajith have come together to make a classy cop story.

Though Yennai Arindhaal reminds us about Gautham's previous movies especially the romance scene between Ajith and Trisha, Ajith and Arun Vijay's performance saves the film and averts a major disaster.
