Must watch for Vijay fans, watchable with a few yawns in between for others!

പടമെങ്ങനെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചാല്‍ ഓ, കത്തി എന്നാണു നമ്മള്‍ ഭൂരിപക്ഷം പടങ്ങളെപ്പറ്റിയും പറയാറ്. അത്രയ്‌ക്കൊന്നും ഈ കത്തി കത്തിയായിട്ടില്ല. വിജയ് പടങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്ന മിനിമം എന്റര്‍ടെയ്ന്‍മെന്റ് കത്തി വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്യുന്നുണ്ട്. അതിനപ്പുറം പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാതിരുന്നാല്‍ കത്തി കണ്ടു മുറിയില്ല.

കോമഡി-റൊമാന്‍സ്-ആക്ഷന്‍ ചേരുവയെന്ന സ്ഥിരം ഫ്രെയിമിലാണ് വിജയ് ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ ഇടം.

‘Kaththi’ is indeed a good attempt, since it discusses social issues remaining within the parameters of a mass entertainer and the typical Vijay brand of masala movie.

കത്തി വെറും കത്തിയല്ല.

Inspite of its lengthy run-time and some minor flaws, Kaththi will capture your attention. This may not create an impact like Thuppakki, but it will certainly win your heart. This is surely a Diwali treat for all Vijay fans.

Kaththi's method to track down the escaped convict, a fight where Kaththi has to battle two female assassins, another where he takes on 50 henchmen using brawn and brain.

Beneath the flab, some solid masala moments And what a grand masala movie might have resulted had these concerns percolated into the story at every level, had this film been as attuned to serving its premise as its hero and his fans.

Kaththi': Unrealistic and preachy.

Kaththi is the story of one such man, who reinvents himself to unite people to fight for a common cause.

 Kaththi entertains with a message.

Overall Kaththi provides what it promised to a good extent and is sure to emerge a winner in the season.

'Kaththi' would not be a let down for hardcore Vijay fans. It has its moments,it waxes and wanes. Interesting and dragging scenes alternate and in that sense it is a real mixed bag. The rather protracted length of the movie too could be a downer. But still 'Kaththi' offers a one time watch if you go without expecting something special.

So overall, Kaththi wont injure you. It has flaws that can be ignored when looking at the message part of it. My rating is 3/5 for A R Murugadoss’s Kaththi.

Katthi’; the second film of Vijay- AR Murugadoss duo, is a worth watching film which will catch all type of audience attention.

On the whole, Kaththi may not be in the same league as Thuppaki, but still is a well made entertainer with a powerful message.

Overall, Kaththi makes a sweeping statement on the most alarming issue in the country without going over-the-top : 'Agriculture' in a neatly packaged commercial drama!

Vijay & Murugados have redefined the term ‘commercial’ once again and delivered a perfect diwali treat for the Tamil audience. 

Murugadoss delivers a strong commercial movie with a nice social angle, in true Vijay style !

The movie deserves a lot of credit for taking a social cause and delivering it sincerely with just the right amount of commercial elements. This is a movie Vijay, AR Murugadoss and entire Kaththi team should be proud of.Go, Watch Kaththi!
