The Suriya starrer Lingusamy film 'Anjaan', is more enjoyable in parts than as a whole.

With a wafer-thin theme that appears to be a blend of Rajinikanth films like Baasha and Thalapathy, Lingusamy appears to have lost his touch in churning out an effective script and hence the film struggles to move steadily right from the start.

when it takes almost three hours to narrate its all-too familiar story with easily predictable twists and underwritten characters in a non-engaging fashion, it becomes a painful watch. And, Anjaan is just that. 

Suriya gives an earnest performance in "Anjaan", and there's absolutely no doubt about it. But he's let down by a weak script, terrible performances by the rest of the cast and lengthy narrative.

On an average, this venture has average first half and a slow drop in the second half. For Surya’s fans, this flick might be a treat as he was shown in a stylish avatar. For sure, it will impress Samantha fans too as she went for good glam show. With respect to the story, one can see this venture for the twists. Finally, it is a routine revenge story with an average plot.

Anjaan tries its best to be a mass masala entertainer but falls short, due to inherent weakness in the script and execution. To a large extent the film is salvaged by Suriya’s charisma and star power.

Overall Anjaan  is a quiet a disappointment for a potential team apart from the Santosh Shivan’s camera works and Yuvan’s scores.

Anjaan as the name suggests is fearless. The movie will surely break the box office charts on the coming days for sure. Anjaan offers the audience 100% entertainment and a surprise with holographic 3D. 

Anjaan is not a bad film. I’m just sad that hasn’t turned out to be the film it could have been. Suriya carries this on his shoulders just like he always does, but you do need some help from the others if you wish to churn out a stellar product.

Lingusamy has been producing and distributing a number of gutsy experimental movies in Tamil. However, his Anjaan is poles apart from the movies produced byTirupathi brothers. Suriya's reliance on a strong script is evident in Lingusamy's yet another Bheema.
