എഴുത്തുകാരന്‍ എന്ന നിലയിലും അഭിനേതാവ് എന്ന നിലയിലും ശ്രീനിവാസന്‍ എന്ന ചലച്ചിത്രകാരന്‍ കാണിച്ച ബഹുമുഖ ഉഴപ്പാണ് ചിത്രത്തില്‍ പറയുന്ന മാലിന്യത്തെക്കാള്‍ പ്രേക്ഷകര്‍ക്ക് അസഹ്യമാവുന്നത്.

ജീവിത പ്രശ്‌നങ്ങള്‍ക്കുള്ള പരിഹാരമടക്കമുള്ള, എങ്ങനെ ജീവിക്കണം എന്നുള്ള സാമൂഹ്യപാഠ സ്‌റ്റഡിക്ലാസാണ്‌ നഗരവാരിധി നടുവില്‍ ഞാന്‍. ഇതൊക്കെ താല്‍പര്യമുള്ളവര്‍ക്കു കണ്ടുനോക്കാം.

The film will be a disappointment if you are expecting anything like the duo's earlier hit Chinthavishtayaya Shyamala or a typical Sreenivasan comedy/satire.

‘Nagaravaraidhy Nadivil Njan, has a taste of earlier Sreeni films , but doesn’t qualify in full as a rich family entertainer. Anyhow, a clean film with its realistic middle class values, it has its fine moments and may not bore you completely.

Despite a buoyant start, Shibu Balan's directorial debut is hampered by some shoddy writing that should dishearten the viewer who expects the Sreenivasan - Sangeetha magic in 'Chinthavishtayaya Shyamala' to light up the screen yet again. 'Nagaravaridhi Naduvil Njan' is a tonally wonky effort that unfortunately feels like a total waste of time. 

The screenplay and dialogue by Sreenivasan is not up to his usual standard and we get the feeling that Sreenivasan is gradually becoming repetitive in his treatment of the subject. The movie is not a second rate one, but it fails to create interest in the audience.

Nagara Varidhi Naduvil Njan didn’t make me happy when I look at it as a Sreenivasan movie. It’s a small preacher which will neither bore you nor influence you (which it was supposed to do). The rating is 2/5 for this Shibu Balan film.

Sreenivasan’s attempt to bring up a movie with a socially relevant plot is appreciable but at the same time, the writing demanded a much more care in how it was to be executed to make the story looks convincing for the audiences and in this aspect,​

All in all Nagaravaridhi Naduvil Njan stands as a social satire with a relevant theme, showing the pros and cons of a township life. Though the film doesn’t please youth and mass masala audience; it stands as a family movie to watch; consisting a message for today’s urban life.

Nagaravaridhi Naduvil Njan does not bring any festive cheer; it’s just an average effort and a big letdown for the audience.
