കൂതറ എന്ന വാക്കിന്റെ അര്‍ഥം മനസിലാക്കിത്തരുന്ന ഒരു ചലച്ചിത്രരൂപം.

മോഹന്‍ലാലിന്റെ കഥാപാത്രവും വേഷവും അസഹ്യം. അദ്ദേഹം ഇതേറ്റെടുക്കാനേ പാടില്ലായിരുന്നു. ഇങ്ങനെ മോഹന്‍ലാലിന്റെ പേരില്‍ ഈ പടം വില്‍ക്കുന്നത് അനിയത്തിയെക്കാട്ടി ചേട്ടത്തിയെ കെട്ടിക്കുന്ന തറവേലയല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നുമല്ല.

സിനിമയായാലും കഥയായാലും നോവലായാലും പത്രവാർത്തയായാലും പച്ചക്കറി ലിസ്റ്റായാലും എന്താണ് കണ്ടന്റ് എന്ന് മറ്റുള്ളവർക്ക് മനസ്സിലാകുന്ന പേരിടുക എന്നതാണ് നാട്ടുനടപ്പ്. അങ്ങനെ നോക്കിയാൽ, ഇതിലും ചേരുന്നൊരു പേരില്ല ഈ സിനിമയ്‌ക്ക് എന്ന് തോന്നുന്ന ഒരുപാടു പേരുണ്ടാവും.

‘Koothara’ is a mess of a movie, one that doesn’t make an impact, on any level. I’d say it’s insipid, dull and even sleep-inducing, to a great extent.

One aspect of the movie is that there is no drag on any scene. Also, honestly, there is not much of a story. But the movie is interesting to watch, especially before the interval. Unfortunately, the final half an hour of the movie was barely tolerable.

‘Koothara’ – the name itself has created much curiosity among the movie goers and it is better to watch the movie with least expectations unless.

Is good in parts, just like a use-and-throw razor

It cannot be called an enjoyable movie despite a rich verve of youthful energy that is pumped into it. Often it is low, degrading and utterly disappointing rarely eliciting any real laughter. 

In the final analysis, this 'Koothara' may not be having an extended run in the B O, but it will have takers, particularly among the college going youth.Keep your expectations  to limits and you may have a chance to enjoy at least some part of this ill titled film.

Koothara, is a colloquial term for something despicable or a baser. Luckily, this film does not live up to its title (even though it tries very hard), and turns out to be an average entertainer.

In one line, director Srinath Rajendran’s Koothara has lived up to its name (pun intended). Or in other words, this boring misadventure leaves you clueless on what the makers were trying to say after a rather excruciating 2 hours and 30 minutes.

ഏയ്ഞ്ചല്‍ ജോണ്‍ എന്നൊരു ചിത്രമാകും സമീപവര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ പരിഗണിച്ചാല്‍ പ്രേക്ഷകരെ ഏറ്റവുമധികം വെറുപ്പിച്ച മോഹന്‍ലാല്‍ ചിത്രം. കാസനോവയും ലേഡീസ് ആന്റ് ജെന്റില്‍മാനുമൊക്കെ പിന്നാലെ മനസിലെത്തുമെങ്കിലും ഇനിയിപ്പോള്‍ ആ പട്ടിക പരിഷ്‌കരിക്കേണ്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു. കൂതറ പ്രമേയം കൊണ്ടും ആ പേര് കാത്തു.

Overall Koothara is an average work that failed to build something special. It doesn’t completely justify its name in the literal sense. I am going with a generous 2.5/5 for Koothara. For those who studied in self financing engineering colleges and still struggling to get things straight in life, this film has moments that will poke your nostalgia.

The film is basically an experimentation by the ‘Second Show’ team. They have tried to go in to new and different perspectives with their film ‘Koothara’. In short the makers of the movie have tried out something that others are not willing to do. They experimented in all aspects and has collectively made this movie.

In short, Koothara is a one time watchable flick. There are lot to see and laugh during the first half but, the movie disappoints during the second half. The movie is an entertainer for sure but, only at parts. Its not a film to watch with high expectations. 

 

Koothara is a sign of good times ahead for Indian Cinema
