കേവലം ഒരു സിനിമ എന്നതിലുപരി ഒരു സാഹിത്യസൃഷ്ടി എന്ന് ഇതിനെ വിളിക്കുന്നതാവും ഉചിതം. ഒരു ചെറുകഥയോ മിനിക്കഥയോ പോലെ സംക്ഷിപ്തവും മനോഹരവുമായ നിർമിതി.

വേനലവധിക്കാലത്തിന്റെ കലാശക്കൊട്ടിന് കുടുംബ പ്രേക്ഷകര്‍ക്ക് യാതൊരു സംശയവുമില്ലാതെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കാന്‍ പറ്റുന്ന ഒരു ഫാമിലി എന്റര്‍ട്രെയിനറായി ചന്ദ്രേട്ടന്‍ മാറിയാല്‍ അതില്‍ അത്ഭുതപ്പെടേണ്ടതില്ല.

ക്ളൈമാക്‌സിലടക്കം എല്ലാം പറഞ്ഞു 'കോംപ്ലിമെന്റാക്കുന്ന' സത്യന്‍ അന്തിക്കാട് ശൈലിയിലേക്കു പലപ്പോഴും ചന്ദ്രേട്ടന്‍ വഴുതിവീഴുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കിലും തനിക്ക് സിനിമയുടെ ക്രാഫ്ട് നന്നായി വഴങ്ങുന്നുവെന്ന് ഭരതന്റെ മകന്‍ സിദ്ധാര്‍ഥിന് തെളിയിക്കാനാകുന്നുണ്ട്.

Chandrettan Evideya is a delightful movie which is a take on familial relationships. It is a very simple tale told in a light manner.

In place of his usual crass comedy, with which most people associate Dileep with these days, his return in Chandrettan Evideya is phenomenal 

Malayalam comedy Chandrettan Evideya fails to work for the most part

Chandrettan Evideyais a clean, family watch and a throwback to the times when Dileep movies meant sterling, genuine entertainers.

Perhaps it's our expectations regarding 'Chandrettan Evideya' that amplify our disappointment. Dunno whether it has all be pre-written as the movie claims to be, but looks like this is an earnest exercise that falls all flat. 

Chandrettan Evideya has nothing much to offer that you have not seen before but even then, it has been presented attractively. In those times when there is very little to choose in terms of good cinema, this one could give you enough to leave the theatre with a smile. Watch this one!

Sidharth Bharathan had done this time a great job as the director and Aanthosh Echikkanam’s script was really a good one to compliment the skill of the director.
