Some advice for all who wish to watch Avatharam this weekend: please leave your brain (logic) at home before heading to the theatre.

Dileep Dons A New 'Avatar'

The excitement was its peak before making to this movie "Avatharam" , but after watching this film all the expectations had evaporated in to the air.

ആക്ഷന്‍ പടത്തിന് പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് ഒരു ജോഷിപ്പടത്തിന്, അതിലും പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് ഒരു ജോഷി ദിലീപ് പടത്തിന് ആവശ്യമുള്ള ചേരുവകളും തരികിടകളും പൊടിനര്‍മ്മവും സൂത്രപ്പണികളും എല്ലാം ചേര്‍ത്തു പടച്ചിറക്കിയ ഈ അവതാരം പുതുമയ്ക്കു വേണ്ടി ആരും കാണണമെന്നില്ല. പഴമയുടെ രുചി ഒന്നുകൂടി നുണയണമെന്നുള്ളവര്‍ക്കും ആക്ഷന്‍ പടങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് ഗൃഹാതുരത പുലര്‍ത്തുന്നവര്‍ക്കും വേണമെങ്കില്‍ കണ്ടു പുളകം കൊള്ളാം.

മികച്ചൊരു ക്ളൈമാക്സുള്ള ഒരു ക്രൈം ത്രില്ലർ കാണാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ച് ചെല്ലുന്നവരെ നിരാശരാക്കുന്ന സിനിമയാണ് അവതാരം. എന്നാൽ ദിലീപിന്റെ ആരാധകരെ തൃപ്തിപ്പെടുത്താനുള്ള എല്ലാ ശ്രമങ്ങളും സംവിധായകൻ നടത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.  

 'Avathaaram' doesn't have much to showcase his talents, just another movie to add to his numbers. In the Box Office too, this may not be a safe bet.

 There is only one word to describe Joshiy's Avatharam - predictable. Much like the earlier combo films of the director-actor duo, this one too is an action-thriller, but ridden with cliches to such extent that the film almost appears like a mash up of bygone thrillers.

A Joshiy-Dileep combination has never disappointed fans and they prove it once again with ‘Avatharam’.
 

 Not boring, not impressive either. Clichéd, predictable and just about average... 

Avatharam has not many scenes that have been created just to tickle your funny bone. Even then the film prompts you to think for sure. It also subtly conveys certain strong messages to the society. There may be flaws, but this one has its heart at the right place.

Avatharam is just an average Dileep-Joshiy fare.

First half of the movie is average and quiet passable. As the movie revolves around a serious plot there is very limited scope for comedy which is always a plus in Dileep movies. Post intermission things get tedious and it begins to test your patience once the revenge part takes off.

Avatars do not kill; they annihilate. When you finish watching the 2:47:22 hrs movie, that's exactly how you feel - annihilated. 

Overall, Avatharam was a hugely disappointing experience for me. Admirers of Joshiy will feel sad after watching this trashy stuff written by Vyasan Edavanakkad. My rating is 1.5/5 for Dileep’s Avatharam. In one scene Dileep even tried a Rajnikanth number with Goli Soda! (Thalaivar did it with guns) Madhava Mahadeva!

A complete entertainer for mass audience.

Avatharam' is not exactly a 'Runway' for Dileep and chances of it becoming a run away hit depends on his ability to turn duds into money spinners.

"Avatharam" has all the elements for a good entertainer.Joshy has added right dose of humor and sentiments to suit the family audience too.
